Cultural performance commemorates 35 years of China-Brunei relations

Bandar Seri Begawan (ANTARA) - A cultural performance by the China Performing Arts Troupe for Persons with Disabilities, in collaboration with artists with disabilities from Brunei, was held in Bandar Seri Begawan on Friday (18/9) to commemorate 35 years of diplomatic relations between China and Brunei.

The special performance, titled “My Dream”, featured sign language poetry readings, dances, songs, and musical instrument performances.

In his speech at the event, the Chinese Ambassador to Brunei, Chen Shaochun, stated that his country is ready to work with Brunei to uphold the strategic guidelines of both heads of state, strengthen high-level strategic mutual trust, deepen friendship cooperation across various fields, and jointly build a China-Brunei community with a shared future.

The event was attended by Brunei’s Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports, Pengiran Shamhary Pengiran Haji Mustapha, and Brunei’s Minister of Transport and Infocommunications, Mohd Riza Haji Mohd Yunos, along with more than 400 invited guests from various sectors in Brunei.

The President of the Brunei-China Friendship Association, Mohammad Firdaus bin Abdul Rahman, noted that the visit of the China Performing Arts Troupe for Persons with Disabilities to Brunei, after more than two decades, helps build a bridge between the peoples of both nations through art and reflects the enduring friendship between the two countries.

According to the China Intercontinental Communication Centre, the China Performing Arts Troupe for Persons with Disabilities will also visit several schools and communities for friendly cultural exchange activities to promote people-to-people friendship.
