Cultural Parade for the Sundanese Anniversary Held in Bandung, Residents Cheer for Dedi Mulyadi
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG - A cultural parade was held in Bandung on Saturday evening (16 May 2026) as part of the Sundanese anniversary celebrations. Residents flocked to the streets along the parade route, eager to see West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi in person.
The Cultural Parade began at Kiara Artha Park, Jalan Ibrahim Adjie, at 7:30 PM. West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi rode a white horse, leading the procession from Kiara Artha Park, along Jalan Jakarta, Jalan Supratman, and finally to Jalan Diponegoro.
Along each street that Dedi Mulyadi and the cultural parade participants passed, crowds of people waited to see the region’s top leader. They cheered for Dedi Mulyadi.
“Mr. Dedi, Mr. Dedi,” residents shouted while capturing the moment with their mobile phones.
Upon arriving in front of Gedung Sate, Dedi Mulyadi was greeted with a red carpet and traditional Sundanese songs. The Binokasih Sanghyang Pake crown was also included in the cultural parade.
The main event of the Sundanese anniversary will be held on Sunday (17 May 2026) at the Gedung Sate area, featuring various performances and arts.
One resident, Nizma (22), said she came to the Cultural Parade with her mother and a friend. She said she wanted to see the performance in person.
“This is my first time seeing a Sundanese cultural parade, so it’s also a new experience,” she said at the location.
She added that she was able to see various arts performances from all over West Java, as well as see West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi.
