Cultural exchange between China and Egypt records rapid progress

China and Egypt, both ancient civilisations with long histories and magnificent cultures, have been learning from and developing alongside each other for thousands of years.

More than 2,000 years ago, China and Egypt were connected via the ancient Silk Road, which served not only as a route for the exchange of porcelain and ceramics but also for the sharing of knowledge and ideas between the two civilisations.

Both nations have witnessed close and continuously evolving cooperation in the field of archaeology, with numerous joint archaeological projects undertaken in recent years.

Joint archaeological excavations in Luxor and Saqqara, alongside exhibitions of Egyptian civilisation in China, have brought the history and culture of both ancient civilisations closer to their respective populations. Such various exchanges have provided a deeper humanitarian foundation for bilateral relations.
