Cultural decay in schools
Cultural decay in schools
What is going to happen to this country if our teachers cannot
trust principals? And what if a principal conspires with the
school's management in taking bribes from parents? Where is this
nation headed to if schools make fake budgets?
These questions are not hypothetical. These practices were
discovered to be occurring in four public secondary schools in
Jakarta, as reported by its teachers to the People's Consultative
Assembly.
That's the way it is -- principals have turned into criminals.
One practices corruption while the others act as manipulators.
They have the same interest -- money.
Why do these things happen? Principals, of course, do not live
on a deserted island. This means that what is happening to them
is only the tip of the iceberg.
Based on that perspective, it seems that no public position is
free from cultural decay. In this country, all of those who have
public authority use their power for their own interests, fishing
for as much wealth as possible.
