Cultural Collaboration Enlivens Cap Go Meh Celebrations in Gorontalo
Gorontalo’s cultural collaboration featured koko’o music, a bamboo kentungan percussion instrument, used to wake people for the distinctive Gorontalo sahur, alongside performances of barongsai, dragon dances and parades of palanquins bearing deity statues during Cap Go Meh at the Tridharma Place of Worship (TITD) Tulus Harapan Kita in Gorontalo City, Gorontalo Province, on Tuesday 3 March. The fusion of cultures represents an example of interfaith tolerance among followers of Tridharma during the Lunar New Year celebrations marking Kongzili 2577.
