International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Group (IPMG) and the Faculty of Public Health at the University of Indonesia (FKM UI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a Certified Internship and Final Assignment Programme in Public Health. The signing ceremony was conducted by IPMG Executive Director Ani Triana Rahardjo and FKM UI Dean Prof. Dr. Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K. at UI Campus in Depok on Monday, 25 May 2026. This collaboration aims to produce graduates who not only master theoretical knowledge but are also adaptable to the dynamics of innovative global pharmaceutical industries. IPMG Chairperson Evie Yulin emphasised that preparing competent young talent is a long-term investment to strengthen national health system resilience and enhance Indonesia’s international competitiveness. ‘Indonesia has ambitious goals to become a high-competitiveness nation in the health sector. Therefore, IPMG is taking concrete steps to contribute to cultivating young talent who are not only job-ready but also internationally competitive,’ Evie stated in a written release on Tuesday, 26 May 2026. Evie added that the association is fully committed to being a strategic partner for the government and educational institutions in improving healthcare quality through the provision of high-quality, ethical medical innovations. The collaboration aligns with the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programme by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Through this exclusive internship programme, FKM UI students will have a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in the research-based pharmaceutical industry ecosystem managed by multinational member companies of IPMG. During the internship, participants will receive dual mentoring from international pharmaceutical industry experts and FKM UI academic supervisors. In addition to the internship, the collaboration includes a series of educational activities such as career days, factory visits, and knowledge-sharing sessions on the lengthy drug discovery process up to product distribution to consumers. FKM UI Dean Prof. Dr. Indri Hapsari Susilowati welcomed the partnership as an essential step to broaden students’ perspectives and equip them with competencies relevant to the global job market. ‘Collaboration with IPMG is a strategic move by FKM UI to bridge academia and industry. Through this certified internship programme, our students gain not only real work experience but also a deep understanding of how research-based pharmaceutical industries contribute to public health,’ said Indri. She expressed hope that this synergy would lay a solid foundation for producing innovative, ethical, and impactful healthcare professionals capable of strengthening Indonesia’s pharmaceutical resilience.
