To commemorate its 22nd anniversary, the Samosir Regency Government in North Sumatra organised various events, including a culinary festival and an exhibition of local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at Segmen V Waterfront City Pangururan, Samosir Regency, on Thursday (26/2).

As many as 25 stands showcasing a variety of local products enlivened the festival. This activity is expected to encourage the economic improvement of the Samosir community, especially those involved in the culinary and MSME sectors. In addition, health check stands, administrative services, and free family planning services were also provided.

A demonstration of the preparation process for traditional dishes such as dalini horbo and naniura was also held and exhibited, as an effort to preserve traditional Batak cuisine that has been registered as intangible cultural heritage at the Ministry of Culture.

Vice Regent of Samosir, Ariston Tua Sidauruk, said that the exhibition held during the celebration of the 22nd anniversary of Samosir Regency serves as a trigger and encouragement for culinary and MSME actors to showcase their businesses. He emphasised the importance of branding for local products so that they become well-known brands and attract buyers.

“Please market your products at this event, this exhibition is to revive culinary and MSMEs. Let’s serve the visitors with friendliness and maintain cleanliness,” said Ariston.

As part of the series of events celebrating the 22nd anniversary, various entertainments will also be presented to attract visitors and the community and will provide a unique experience. “Samosir as our home, in accordance with the theme of the 22nd anniversary celebration, truly provides comfort,” said Ariston.
