Cucun urges PKB cadres to be constantly present among the people

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy General Chairman of the PKB Central Board, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, has urged PKB cadres, especially in South Kalimantan, to always be present among the people at all times. “PKB cadres must be present among the people at all times. Do not become ‘five-yearly guests’ who only appear when votes are needed. Prove your best work in the field consistently,” Cucun said in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday. Cucun explained that this request aligns with the mandate from PKB General Chairman Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar. Furthermore, he stated that consistency in serving the community is the essence of PKB, so seasonal presence of cadres is not allowed. “PKB must be consistent in serving. We want cadres to be present not only during campaigns, but truly become part of the community’s daily life. This is what we call the politics of presence,” he said. He also conveyed that PKB must emerge as a pioneer in building the spirit of gotong royong among the people. “PKB is the pioneer of gotong royong. Cadres must be able to mobilise social solidarity, help the community, and become a bridge for solutions amid various problems. Our politics is the politics of presence. Present, working, and the benefits felt,” he stated. In addition, he specifically asked PKB cadres to synergise in succeeding President Prabowo Subianto’s strategic programmes. One highlighted issue is waste management across all regencies/cities in Indonesia. He also encouraged the PKB faction in the DPRD to actively collaborate with local governments to find innovative solutions related to that environmental issue. “PKB must be part of the solution, especially in supporting central programmes that directly impact regional welfare and cleanliness,” he said.
