CT’s Example: DPR Urges Pupils and University Students to Strengthen Personal Qualities
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Chairman of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Mukhamad Misbakhun, has called on pupils and university students to strengthen their personal qualities in order to succeed in today’s era of technology.
He cited the Founder & Chairman of CT Corp, Chairul Tanjung, as an example of someone who comes from an ordinary family but has achieved success through improving his own personal qualities. ‘One thing that all pupils or students must possess, regardless of their family background, is personal quality. Because strengthening personal quality and personal capacity is a treasure that is invaluable. Mr CT did not come from a family with influence; he could enrol at FKUI thanks to his own abilities,’ Misbakhun said at Jogja Financial Festival 2026, on Saturday (23/5/2026).
He also hopes that pupils and university students will make the most of the learning opportunities available to strengthen their personal capabilities, utilising the various facilities on offer. As at the Jogja Financial Festival 2026, the public can learn and raise their personal quality from renowned economists and financial experts.
Moreover, in this era knowledge is readily accessible through books and the internet. Therefore, compared with previous generations, people today are much better positioned to succeed in the future.
‘In my generation, Mr CT didn’t have occasions like this. It was very rare for our minds to be opened by events that build. Literacy was very scarce. But now such events are spreading at school and university levels. Moreover, the government provides extraordinary support, parents don’t need to pay for schooling thanks to scholarships. There are many libraries, many books, the internet—knowledge is limitless, to prepare oneself,’ he concluded.
