CT Suggests Muhammadiyah Could Implement Technology from Primary School Level
CT Corp founder and chairman, Chairul Tanjung, has stressed the importance of implementing technology across all Muhammadiyah educational institutions to boost quality and competitiveness.
He made the statement while speaking at a Ramadan forum at the Muhammadiyah University of Tangerang on Thursday, 26 February.
At the forum, he was joined by the chairman of Muhammadiyah’s Economic Affairs Division, Dr Anwar Abbas, and presented a paper entitled ‘Experiences in Developing the Economic Welfare of the Community’.
CT emphasised that quality is the key to building excellent educational institutions. However, he added that quality must also be supported by quantity, adequate facilities, and readiness to face future technological developments.
“Therefore, please prioritise technology in all aspects of Muhammadiyah’s education system. Start from the primary school level. Because this is the future. If we don’t embrace the future, we will be left behind,” he said.
He hopes that Muhammadiyah can be a pioneer in utilising technology to improve the quality of education, starting from the primary school level.
It is hoped that this step will produce entrepreneurs who are able to build the nation and the country.
“The more entrepreneurs there are, the more advanced a country will be,” CT concluded.
Technological Response
CT believes that technological developments are inevitable and must be addressed progressively. He cited the implementation of technology in the business sector, which he believes can improve efficiency and increase company profits, such as the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
As an illustration, he mentioned his digital bank, Allo Bank, which has around 14.5 million customers with approximately 300 employees.
“Technology cannot be ignored. So, don’t ignore technology if we want to progress. Muhammadiyah must be at the forefront in this regard,” he said.
