CT Says Today's Entrepreneurs Must Understand Technology, Here's Why

Jakarta — CNBC Indonesia: CT Corp founder and chairman, Chairul Tanjung (CT), emphasised understanding of technology for entrepreneurs and those who want to start a business. He stressed this during an education session at the Jogja Financial Festival at the Jogja Expo Center, Special Region of Yogyakarta, on Saturday (23 May 2026).

According to CT, a successful entrepreneur is born from creating a unique product with a large market. Equally important is that the product suits its generation.

‘That product will endure. And don’t forget to leverage technology for these younger generations now,’ CT said.

CT said that selling goods today no longer requires a physical shop. The majority of consumers from Millennials, Gen Z to Gen Alpha rely heavily on e-commerce.

‘TikTok is incredibly influential in promoting products and in selling; it has far outpaced Instagram, and even more so Facebook. So, you must understand technology,’ CT said.
