CT Discusses the Role of Technology in Education: It Should Not Be Overlooked
Founder and Chairman of CT Corp, Chairul Tanjung (CT), said that Muhammadiyah must prioritise technology in every one of its educational institutions. CT said that this is important to improve the quality of education in Muhammadiyah.
He made the statement when he was a speaker at the 1447 H Ramadan Discourse at the Muhammadiyah University of Tangerang (UMT), Thursday (26/2/2026). CT was a speaker with the Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board, Anwar Abbas, presenting material with the title ‘Experiences in Developing the Economic Welfare of the Community’.
‘The key to these educational institutions is quality, ladies and gentlemen. It has been made clear. Quantity is needed, quality is needed, good facilities are needed. The technologies of the future, with present-day value, are needed,’ said CT in front of the audience.
CT hopes that Muhammadiyah will be a pioneer in the use of technology to improve the quality of education. According to him, the implementation of this technology can start from the primary school level.
‘So please really prioritise technology in all elements of Muhammadiyah’s education. Start from primary school. Yes, because this is the future. Because if we don’t embrace the future, we will be left behind,’ he emphasised.
CT gave an example of how the implementation of technology in companies makes them run efficiently, but also provides greater profits. For example, his digital bank, Allo Bank, has around 14.5 million customers, but only 300 employees.
‘Technology cannot be ignored. So please don’t overlook technology if we want to progress. It’s okay, Muhammadiyah must move forward in terms of technology. Because it will win in the competition later,’ he explained.
