The education sector in remote corners of East Manggarai Regency has received a fresh boost. Through the Pi Mengajar (Pijar) Programme, the CT ARSA Foundation officially dispatched young volunteer teachers to three schools in isolated areas to strengthen education quality and improve access to learning for children in regions still lacking educational services. The three schools serving as the posting locations for the Pijar young teachers are SDN Watu Deru in North Kota Komba District, SDN Lewurla in South Elar District, and SDI Liang Dalo in North Lamba Leda District. During the past four years, the Pijar Programme has been present in 27 regions across Indonesia. During the inauguration of the Pijar young teachers on Wednesday (3/6), East Manggarai Regent Andreas Agas stated that the presence of the young teachers is expected to motivate students to strengthen their competitiveness and eagerness to learn.
