CSC, Krakatau plan tie-up

TAIPEI (AFX-ASIA): China Steel Corp said it and Indonesian
state-run Krakatau Steel are in talks jointly to set up a steel
mill in Indonesia with annual total capacity of 13 million metric
tonnes of slab and billet.

"Krakatau is aggressive in prompting the project," a China
Steel official said.

"Details and decision have yet to be finalized," he added.

The venture company, if established, will target Southeast
Asia market, particularly China, the official added.
