Crypto Transactions in Indonesia Reach IDR 28.58 Trillion in June 2026, with 22.69 Million Consumers
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has noted that crypto assets remain in high demand among the public. Adi Budiarso, Chief Executive of the Supervision of Financial Sector Technological Innovation, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets at OJK, stated that this is reflected in the number of accounts and transaction values for June 2026.
Adi explained that as of June 2026, the number of consumer accounts for crypto assets had reached 22.69 million, representing a month-to-month growth of 1.32%. Meanwhile, the value of crypto asset transactions was recorded at IDR 28.58 trillion, a sharp increase of 24.2% month-on-month. The transaction value of digital financial asset derivatives was recorded at IDR 4.19 trillion, an increase of 3.64%.
"Amid global uncertainty, consumer confidence in the digital financial asset ecosystem, including crypto assets in Indonesia, remains well maintained," he said during a virtual press conference on Tuesday (4/8/2026).
Additionally, Adi revealed that since the issuance of POJK 3 of 2024 concerning the operation of ITSK up to 31 July 2026, the OJK has received 343 consultation requests from prospective sandbox participants. "Currently, there are 2 sandbox participants, consisting of one organiser with a digital financial asset and crypto asset business model and one market supporter who is currently carrying out the trial process," he stated.
Previously, 6 sandbox participants had completed this trial process and were declared to have passed, with business models including gold tokenisation, securities tokenisation, and fund management contract schemes (KPD), as well as property ownership benefit tokenisation, rupiah stablecoin issuance, and non-trading digital asset custodian services. "In July 2026, one new business model organiser was declared to have passed, namely PT Dana Kripto Indonesia," he mentioned.
