The growth in the number of crypto asset investors in Indonesia has continued to increase over the past year. Industry players consider improved literacy to be a crucial factor in ensuring the digital asset market develops in a healthy and sustainable manner. Data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) shows the number of national crypto asset investors as of April 2026 reached 21.7 million users. This figure represents an increase of more than 50 percent compared to the same period the previous year, which recorded 14.16 million investors. Indodax CEO William Sutanto stated that the growth in investor numbers must be balanced with an increase in public understanding of crypto assets and blockchain technology. “The growth in the number of investors must be balanced with an improvement in the quality of literacy,” William said in a statement on Friday (12/6/2026). According to him, the development of the crypto asset industry shows that digital assets are increasingly accepted as part of the modern financial ecosystem. However, this growth requires collaborative support between industry players, regulators, communities, and the public. “We will continue to provide services that are safe, transparent, and compliant with regulations, while expanding various educational programmes so that more Indonesians can understand crypto assets and blockchain technology more wisely,” he said. William explained that various educational programmes targeting students, communities, and business actors are continuously carried out to improve public understanding of crypto assets, as well as their opportunities and risks within the digital economy ecosystem. This commitment also led Indodax to win two awards at the 2026 CFX Knight Awards held by PT Central Finansial X (CFX) as part of the CFX Crypto Conference 2026. The first award was the Arjuna Award for the Commitment to Literacy and Education category, given to exchange members deemed active and consistent in promoting crypto asset education to the public. Additionally, Indodax received the Bima Award for the Highest Achievement in Growing the National Crypto Asset Market category. “The award in the field of education holds very significant meaning for us. The crypto asset industry can grow healthily if the public understands the benefits, risks, and how to invest responsibly,” William said. Going forward, Indodax stated it will continue to strengthen educational programmes, innovation, and governance to support the development of a more mature and competitive digital asset ecosystem.
