Crowded and Trapped in KRL Carriages During Rush Hour Disruption
Hundreds of passengers waited inside carriages of the Bogor–Jakarta Kota KRL in the Pasar Minggu area on Thursday (20/8/2026). CNBC Indonesia observed at the location that hundreds of KRL users had been trapped since 07.00 WIB, and by 08.04 the train had still not moved. KAI Commuter informed that officers were still handling the incident. At 07.20 WIB, KAI Commuter reported that train KA 1183 on the Bogor–Jakarta Kota route was still being handled by officers at Tebet Station, South Jakarta. KAI Commuter urged passengers to follow instructions and information from officers on the ground. Citing the X account @CommuterLine, a person was struck by a KRL at 07.00 WIB. The Bogor–Jakarta Kota electric rail service experienced delays on that day. Hundreds of passengers exited the carriages of the Bogor–Jakarta Kota KRL in the Pasar Minggu area. Officers informed that KRL services on lines 1 and 2 could not yet depart due to the operational disruption.
