Crowd Erupts Chanting Cabinet Secretary Teddy's Name in Front of Prabowo

Thousands of Gorontalo residents loudly chanted the name of Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya during the XVII National Farmers and Fishermen’s Week (PENAS) peak event in Gorontalo Regency on Wednesday, 24 June 2026. The event was directly attended by President Prabowo Subianto, who appeared astonished by the uproarious crowd calling for Seskab Teddy.

Initially, Prabowo greeted each member of the Red and White Cabinet present at the event. However, the crowd’s attention—predominantly young people and mothers—was diverted when they noticed Seskab Teddy near the main stage area. The atmosphere suddenly became boisterous with hysterical shouts of “Teddy! Teddy! Mayor Teddy!”

Hearing his name repeatedly called by the people of Gorontalo, President Prabowo quickly responded to the enthusiasm from the podium. He called out Seskab Teddy’s name, which was met with thunderous cheers and laughter from the thousands of attendees. Seskab Teddy, who was initially at the back accompanying the entourage, immediately stood up and gave a salute while waving to the crowd, prompting even more hysterical screams.

“A Lieutenant Colonel is welcomed like that. I’m the president,” Prabowo remarked. The presence of the man familiarly known as Mayor Teddy had indeed stolen the spotlight from the moment the presidential entourage arrived in Gorontalo. Wearing his distinctive field service uniform, the former aide-de-camp to Prabowo appeared friendly, accommodating greetings and selfie requests from residents fortunate enough to be in the front row.
