Crossing activities return to normal

Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara: After two days of no activity, ferries transporting vehicles between Lembar seaport in Lombok and Padang Bai seaport in Bali, were running as scheduled on Wednesday.

Bus and truck drivers had earlier protested the government's decision to raise crossing fees by blocking the street leading to Lembar seaport.

The drivers ended their blockade after West Nusa Tenggara Governor Lalu M. Serinata announced that the fee hike would be postponed indefinitely. -- JP
