Criticised for Overseas Trips, Prabowo: I'm Securing Oil!
President Prabowo Subianto has responded to criticisms levelled against him regarding frequent official trips abroad. He stressed that these activities are aimed at securing national interests, including ensuring oil supplies at a time when the world is facing an energy crisis.
“So standing here, brothers and sisters, don’t think this is an easy job, those who want to become president, good luck, I’ve already committed to it,” Prabowo said, met with laughter from the audience during the briefing at the Government Working Meeting of the Red and White Cabinet Members Along with All Echelon I Officials of Ministries/Institutions & SOE Directors, Merdeka Palace, Wednesday (8/4/2026).
Prabowo stated that the government is highly focused on efforts to maintain domestic oil supplies.
“So I have to work now, no holidays, they say Prabowo likes travelling abroad, brothers and sisters, to secure oil, I have to go everywhere. We went to Japan the other day, yes. We got this, I’m setting off again, I want to set off again to a certain country, later when I go you’ll know where, also to secure,” Prabowo emphasised.
