Criticised by Netizens, MPR Smart Quiz Judge: Mocking Me Won't Make Me Fall
The controversy surrounding the judging in the 2026 MPR RI Four Pillars Smart Quiz Competition at the West Kalimantan provincial level has once again come under scrutiny following the circulation of screenshots of a WhatsApp status allegedly belonging to one of the judges, Indri Wahyuni. Posted on the Instagram account @jakartapenin, the screenshots show WhatsApp statuses purportedly created by Indri Wahyuni in response to criticism and abuse from netizens. These statuses gained widespread attention after a controversial video clip of the quiz judging went viral on social media. “Mocking me won’t make me fall,” reads one of the statuses allegedly posted by Indri Wahyuni. In another status, the account believed to be hers also alluded to the victory of SMAN 1 Sambas, which she deemed deserving as champions in the competition. The polemic began when Team C, represented by Josepha Alexandra from SMAN 1 Pontianak, gave an answer during the buzzer round regarding the institution that the DPR must consider when selecting BPK members. However, the judges deemed this answer incorrect, resulting in a -5 point deduction for Josepha’s team. Shortly afterwards, Team B from SMAN 1 Sambas provided a similar answer, which was declared correct by the judges. This decision was immediately protested by Josepha’s team members, who felt they had given the same answer first. In response to the protest, Indri Wahyuni, as a judge, stated that Josepha’s articulation was not clear enough for the panel to hear. “Articulation is important. So, get used to answering with clear articulation,” Indri said during the competition. That statement subsequently drew criticism from the public on social media. Many netizens considered the judges’ decision inconsistent and sparked controversy in the provincial-level competition. As of this report, there has been no official confirmation from the relevant parties regarding the authenticity of the circulating WhatsApp statuses.
