Criminal Investigation Unit Says Police Chief Didik Possessed Narcotics for Personal Use
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Narcotics Crime Directorate of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim Polri) has stated that the inactive Bima City Police Chief, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Didik Putra Kuncoro, possessed narcotics for personal consumption.
"For personal use, consumption," said the Head of Sub-directorate 3 of the Narcotics Crime Directorate, Senior Commissioner Zulkarnain Harahap, in Jakarta on Sunday evening (15/2).
He also revealed that test results on AKBP Didik showed that he tested positive for narcotics use. "When we tested [his urine], it was negative. However, Propam [the Professional and Security Division of the National Police] had already conducted a hair test, which came back positive," he said.
Previously, on Friday (13/2), the Narcotics Crime Directorate of Bareskrim Polri announced that AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro had been named a suspect in an alleged narcotics possession case.
The case originated from the arrest of two domestic helpers belonging to police suspect Brigadier First Class IR and his wife, AN, with 30.415 grammes of methamphetamine seized as evidence from their private residence.
From the interrogation conducted by the Narcotics Directorate of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, the involvement of Adjunct Commissioner Malaungi (ML) in the network was uncovered.
Further examination by the Professional and Security Division (Propam) of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police on AKP ML returned positive results for amphetamine and methamphetamine. A search of AKP ML's office and official residence subsequently uncovered five packets of methamphetamine weighing 488.496 grammes.
It was from there that AKBP Didik's involvement was detected. Based on statements from AKP ML, AKBP Didik was implicated in the alleged narcotics abuse.
A joint team from the Internal Affairs Bureau of the National Police's Professional and Security Division and the Narcotics Crime Directorate of Bareskrim Polri then conducted a search of AKBP Didik's private residence in Tangerang on Wednesday (11/2).
At the location, investigators found 16.3 grammes of methamphetamine, 50 ecstasy tablets, 19 alprazolam tablets, two happy five tablets, and 5 grammes of ketamine.
AKBP Didik has not yet been detained as he is currently undergoing special placement by the National Police's Professional and Security Division while awaiting an ethics hearing scheduled for Thursday (19/2).
