Crime Roundup: Coal Corruption Case and Child Trafficking Network Uncovered

A number of criminal and security-related events occurred in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/7), ranging from the search of a café and money changer to a child trafficking case.

A joint team from the National Police and Polda Metro Jaya raided a café and money changer in Cipete, South Jakarta, as part of an investigation into an alleged corruption case concerning coal supply involving PT PLN (Persero), PT Asabri (Persero), and PT Krakatau Steel.

Polda Metro Jaya issued a reminder against obstructing the investigation into the alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) case involving PT PLN (Persero), PT Asabri (Persero), and PT Krakatau Steel.

A joint team from the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) and Polda Metro Jaya conducted searches at 12 different locations across Jakarta and its surrounding areas, related to the investigation of an alleged corruption and money laundering case involving PT PLN (Persero), PT Asabri (Persero), and PT Krakatau Steel.

The Directorate of Women and Children Protection and Human Trafficking (PPA-PPO) of Polda Metro Jaya uncovered a child trafficking and exploitation network in two separate locations, namely in Cibitung, Bekasi Regency, and Lokasari, West Jakarta.
