Credibility of legislators

During the present multi-dimensional crisis, a number of
legislators have shown their disrespectful attitude, thus
increasing the psychological burden on the government.

The disrespectful attitude included bribery of a number of
legislators by the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA)
over the plan to divest the government's stake in Bank Niaga.

Politicians' claim that they are reformists has turned out to
be mere lip service.

It is time for President Megawati Soekarnoputri to take
drastic actions that would change the corrupt culture among our
politicians and bureaucrats.

We do not want corrupt culture and disorder to continue to
haunt our government officials and politicians.
