Creative Economy Ministry Welcomes Film Delivering Moral Messages Through Visuals
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, has welcomed films that have the potential to deliver moral messages relevant to society, going beyond mere thematic entertainment through a light yet meaningful visual approach.
“Cinemas prioritise commercial films that promise returns. The promotion of this film must begin immediately and be maximised further so that it reaches more of the public. For that, we are ready to collaborate in the film’s value chain,” said the Creative Economy Minister in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The Creative Economy Ministry appreciates the film “Meja Tanpa Laci,” which is an innovative anti-corruption programme conceived by Andi Sri Ulva Baso, highlighting values of integrity with the tagline “Difficult to Be Honest.”
“The aim of this film is to show the public that there are still good people in this country, which we want to build in a more entertaining way, providing a fresh nuance for integrity-themed films that are more entertaining. We are trying to present integrity in a light manner so that the messages reach society, and the economic ecosystem emerges,” he said.
The film “Meja Tanpa Laci” follows the story of Dipa, a young police officer who upholds integrity amid a system rife with bribery practices. In his investigation into the disappearance of a young man, Dipa uncovers connections to a drug network operating behind sembako distribution.
The Creative Economy Ministry welcomes this initiative as part of efforts to strengthen the Indonesian film industry ecosystem. Collaboration between the government and industry players is expected to expand distribution reach, improve production quality, and create sustainable economic impacts.
