Jakarta (ANTARA) - Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya wants digital literacy training to reach a broader segment, including santri, so that economic empowerment is evenly distributed across all strata. “We also know how the government actually wants to continue supporting the empowerment of the economy in pesantren for santri and santriwati, and we can do it including teachers or ustadz and ustadzah,” said Riefky at the event Laporan Pencapaian Pelatihan Digitalisasi Emak-Emak Matic dan Genmatic in Jakarta, on Wednesday. This training could enter the pesantren sector with the Santrimatic program to empower the santri who are also a government focus in making pesantren one segment that can help boost national economic growth. The ministry also invited Shopee to implement digital literacy training in priority areas for the development of the creative economy as places to conduct digital economy training that can improve the living standards of MSMEs and local online sellers. “Of course we hope that this can be continued, can be sustained and can also penetrate other regions including the priority areas for the development of the creative economy designated by Mr. President Prabowo Subianto in 15 provinces,” he said. Data from the Ministry shows 27.4 million people work as creative industry practitioners, some of whom are affiliates, and the growth of people working in the digital-based creative sector is rising by almost 1-1.5 million people every year, with 50 percent of them being young people. “Meaning this could absorb open unemployment, creating jobs for the unemployed young generation,” he said. Riefky hopes that digital economic literacy training conducted with private sector partners can open doors for other companies and help the government to boost national economic growth from the creative industry.
