Creative Economy Ministry: BDT 2026 Programme Graduates 2,053 Digital Talents
The Ministry of Creative Economy has announced that the Creative Economy Agency Digital Talent (BDT) 2026 Programme has graduated 2,053 digital talents.
“From an initial target of 2,200 participants, it managed to attract the interest of approximately 5,900 participants from 37 provinces in Indonesia. And from the planned target of 800 participants graduating, this programme successfully graduated 2,053 participants,” said the Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Muhammad Neil El Himam.
This was conveyed during the closing of the BDT 2026 Programme in Jakarta on Saturday (27/6). He added that this demonstrates the growing and increasingly widespread enthusiasm among participants across various regions to enhance their digital competencies.
Neil stated that the world is currently entering a new phase of digital transformation where artificial intelligence (AI) technology is no longer just a technological trend but has become an infrastructure for increasing productivity, changing the way humans work, create, do business, and generate economic value.
“We are certain that we will face various disruption challenges in the future, and we must certainly be prepared. That is why we in the creative economy are encouraging fellow creators to start entering the world of AI to learn and eventually be able to apply it,” said Neil.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs estimates that Indonesia will need up to 12 million digital talents by 2030, but only around 9 million digital talents can be prepared.
“This need comes not only from the technology sector but also from all sub-sectors of the creative economy. Therefore, digital talent development is no longer an option; it is a strategic necessity for this nation. Herein lies the urgency of programmes like the Creative Economy Agency Digital Talent or BDT,” said Neil.
He expressed hope that all BDT participants can become agents of digital transformation in their respective environments and become individuals capable of leading change. Participants are also expected to become creators who generate employment and talents who can utilise AI to increase productivity, expand markets, and create new economic value.
The Ministry of Creative Economy is running the BDT 2026 Programme to recruit digital talents and enhance their ability to utilise artificial intelligence technology. Muhammad Neil El Himam stated that this programme is held to help the industry meet the need for workers with digital technology skills.
The BDT programme is an intensive, multilevel digital competency training that combines in-depth technical skills, hard skills, and interpersonal abilities, or soft skills, based on a global industry curriculum. Carrying the theme “Productivity with AI”, the training activities in the BDT 2026 programme include practical AI classes for productivity enhancement, generative AI usage classes, and AI usage workshops. The three learning stages are conducted both online and offline.
