Creative Economy Minister and Head of the Creative Economy Agency Teuku Riefky Harsya has encouraged young civil servants within the Ministry of Creative Economy to become problem solvers, innovators, and collaborators in supporting the development of the national creative economy. “Today is not the finish line of a selection process, but rather the starting point of a long journey of service to the nation and state,” Riefky said while swearing in 93 prospective civil servants who were appointed as civil servants and inaugurating functional officials in Jakarta on Wednesday. Riefky stated that the newly appointed civil servants bear the responsibility of serving the public and implementing public policy, particularly in supporting Indonesia’s economic transformation towards an economy based on knowledge, innovation, creativity, and technology. Therefore, civil servants within the Ministry of Creative Economy are required to be able to adapt to change and utilise technology, data, and innovation in carrying out their duties. “The Ministry of Creative Economy needs an apparatus that not only works administratively, but is also capable of becoming a problem solver, innovator, and collaborator,” he said. On this occasion, 93 prospective civil servants were officially appointed as civil servants, comprising 62 functional position formations and 31 executive positions. Additionally, the Ministry of Creative Economy also inaugurated 63 functional officials consisting of 62 functional civil servant positions from the 2024 formation and one first-expert human resources apparatus analyst. He expressed hope that the presence of a young generation that is adaptive to change can deliver various breakthroughs and strengthen Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem. With the joining of the new civil servants and the inauguration of functional officials, the Ministry of Creative Economy is optimistic that its institutional capacity will be further strengthened in formulating policy, expanding collaboration, and providing responsive services to the needs of creative economy actors in various regions.
