Creative Economy Minister Supports Braze in Developing Indonesia's Digital Ecosystem
The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) is exploring collaboration opportunities with Braze, a technology company that helps businesses build customer engagement, to strengthen the digital transformation of Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem.
The collaboration will focus on the Grow with Braze event scheduled for early August. The activity will serve as a platform for capacity-building among creative economy players whilst expanding their access to global markets through the use of digital marketing technology.
“Collaboration with Braze must be carried out on a sustainable basis so that Braze’s technology and global network can strengthen Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem, help businesses increase their competitiveness, expand markets, and encourage the emergence of more national champions capable of going global,” said Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya during an audience with Braze at the Ministry of Creative Economy office in Jakarta on Thursday (17 July).
Braze is a technology company that helps global brands build customer engagement through a cloud-based Customer Engagement Platform (CEP). The platform enables companies to deliver more personalised communication by leveraging real-time data and artificial intelligence (AI) to support business transformation.
The Creative Economy Minister explained that the ministry currently oversees 21 creative economy subsectors grouped into four major clusters, with seven subsectors designated as national priorities.
Through a hexahelix approach, the government continues to strengthen collaboration with regional governments, the business community, academics, communities, the media and financial institutions to promote inclusive and sustainable creative economy growth. The government’s focus is to accelerate creative economy players who already possess production capacity and market potential so they can move up a class.
“The ministry’s function is more as an accelerator. We want creative economy players who already have products and business capacity to grow faster through access to technology, training, marketing, investment and international networks. Collaboration with global companies such as Braze is a concrete step to accelerate that process, including joint curation that delivers further impact,” the minister explained.
On that occasion, Braze offered a number of cooperation schemes, including the provision of 1,000 free certifications on customer engagement and digital campaigns for creative economy players, technological support to help businesses build more personalised digital communication, and plans to hold an international-scale marketing technology conference on 4 August 2026 featuring Braze’s global CEO from the United States. The Creative Economy Minister is expected to be a keynote speaker whilst opening opportunities for broader collaboration through the momentum.
“We believe customer engagement technology can help Indonesian creative economy players build stronger relationships with consumers. That is why we want to collaborate with the Ministry of Creative Economy through training, certification and the use of technology so that more Indonesian creative economy players can grow and compete in the global market,” said Franz Sihaloho, Country Director of Braze Indonesia.
In addition to discussing the conference agenda, both parties also discussed opportunities for digital talent training, collaboration on business optimisation for companies mentored by the ministry, and Braze’s participation in the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026, which reinforces Indonesia’s position as one of the world’s creative economy growth hubs.
At the meeting, Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky was accompanied by Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology, Muhammad Neil El Himam; Director of New Digital Technology, Dandy Yudha Feryawan; and the Minister’s Expert Staff for Public Issues and Inter-Agency Affairs, Gemintang Kejora Mallarangeng. Also present were Braze Account Director Bakti Oetomo and CEO of PT Laju Omega Digital, Deddy Wahyudi.
