Creative Economy Minister sees Java Jazz as platform for musicians and creative economy players to thrive
Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya believes the International Java Jazz Festival 2026 can serve as a platform for musicians and creative economy actors to thrive. ‘Java Jazz demonstrates that a festival not only features high-quality musical performances but also provides a space for many creative economy players to grow and reach wider markets through their works and products,’ Riefky said in an official statement issued in Jakarta on Sunday.
During his visit to the International Java Jazz Festival 2026 at Nice PIK 2 in Tangerang on Saturday (30 May), Riefky watched performances by Indonesian musicians and inspected several crowded food booths. The Java Jazz Festival ecosystem is said to support creative economy actors across various subsectors.
In recent years, Indonesia has increasingly been trusted to host various international festivals and performances. This reflects the growth of the national creative industry, from event organisers, creative talent, supporting infrastructure, to business actors involved in the event supply chain.
The International Java Jazz Festival 2026 will take place from 29-31 May 2026 at Nice PIK 2, Tangerang. The enthusiasm of visitors filling the festival area shows high public interest in musical performances and serves as a positive signal for the growth of the national music industry.
Accompanying the Creative Economy Minister during the event was Media Creativity Deputy Cecep Rukendi.
