Jakarta (ANTARA) - Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said the winner of the Republic of Indonesia’s anniversary logo, designed by Fajar Novario from Padang, West Sumatra, can elevate the potential of regional creative talent to become a national champion. “This proves that creative talent from the regions has competitiveness and can show their capabilities at the national level. ‘Local hero’ becomes ‘national champion’,” the Minister said in a statement received on Wednesday. Riefky said that in accordance with the President’s directive, this year’s selection of the RI Independence Day logo involved public participation through a public poll. Ahead of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the government officially announced the results of the poll, with Fajar Novario’s work selected as the official national visual identity logo for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia this year. “The logo by Fajar Novario, a young designer from Padang, was chosen as the official RI Anniversary logo. It promotes the values of Collectivity, Synergy, and Growth, which are relevant to the 81st anniversary theme of a Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia,” said Riefky Harsya. Fajar Novario is known as a creative talent who was born, raised, and developed within the visual communication design ecosystem of West Sumatra (Padang). The 2023 graduate of Padang State University (UNP) actively drives the creative ecosystem through various exhibitions and graphic design activities in his region. Previously, five logo designs by professional graphic designers from various regions in Indonesia were shortlisted through a rigorous curation process involving the Ministry of Creative Economy, the Ministry of State Secretariat, the National Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Indonesian Graphic Designers Association (ADGI). The logo competition for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia was initially entered by 124 participants from various regions across Indonesia. In this process, the Ministry of Creative Economy played a role in encouraging the participation of national creative talent and ensuring the curation process was conducted professionally until five finalists were selected for the public vote. The public poll was held from 24 to 28 June 2026 via the link https://logohutri.istanapresiden.go.id/. Each of the five finalists’ works provided a unique visual interpretation of the official anniversary theme, ‘A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia’, by David Wirawan (Surakarta), Fajar Novario (Padang), Kanda Putra (Denpasar), Riskiawan (Malang), and Tiffany Djohan (Batam).
