Creative Economy Minister pushes downstream creativity through IndoBuildTech Expo 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya said IndoBuildTech Expo 2026 serves as momentum to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem, particularly the architecture and interior design subsectors, which play a strategic role in driving the downstreaming of products based on local creativity.
According to Teuku Riefky, the expo also expands the market reach of Indonesia’s creative industries.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy is committed to strengthening the growth of the architecture and interior design subsectors so they make an increasingly large contribution to national economic growth. Bringing together more than 400 exhibitors with a wide range of products, technologies and finest works, including from the architecture and interior design subsectors, I hope IndoBuildTech Expo 2026 continues to be a space for collaboration, breakthroughs and business opportunities for industry players,” the minister said in a statement received on Friday.
Riefky said IndoBuildTech Expo is closely linked to the architecture and interior design subsectors, which form part of the Creative Economy Master Plan (Rindekraf) 2026-2045. To strengthen their development, the ministry continues to build synergy with various stakeholders, including the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) and the Indonesian Interior Designers Association (HDII), to improve human resource quality, strengthen the ecosystem and produce competitive works.
This commitment is also supported by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), who said the largest building materials, architecture and interior design exhibition in Indonesia serves as a forum for collaboration between architects, designers, consultants, contractors, industry players and the wider community in delivering innovation in the construction sector.
“The presence of the Creative Economy Minister at IndoBuildTech Expo is highly relevant to the architecture and interior design subsectors, and the construction sector’s role is also very dominant. We want to provide roads accessible to the wider public so that our farmers and fishermen can become more prosperous and productive. Because it’s not about building more, but building better, building smarter and building for everyone,” AHY said.
IndoBuildTech Expo 2026 features more than 400 exhibitors showcasing a variety of products, technologies and the latest innovations in construction, architecture and interior design. The exhibition also serves as a space for collaboration between creative designers and building material manufacturers to encourage the creation of innovative, highly competitive products.
Rafidi Iqra Muhammad, Director of PT Debindo International Trade & Exhibitions (DITE), said IndoBuildTech continues to develop as a platform bringing together government, professional associations, businesses and innovators to strengthen Indonesia’s construction industry.
“Without innovation, without quality, without collaboration, development will not produce sustainable added value. That is why IndoBuildTech is here as a space where the entire industrial ecosystem meets to share knowledge, introduce innovations, expand business networks, open investment opportunities and encourage new collaborations capable of strengthening Indonesia’s competitiveness,” he said.
IndoBuildTech Expo 2026, held at ICE BSD Tangerang, also serves as a meeting point for the entire industry value chain, from material producers and architects to contractors, interior designers and end users. This integrated ecosystem is expected to create new business opportunities and strengthen the position of local products in global competition.
