Indonesia’s Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, stated that the creative industry plays a strategic role as a new engine for national economic growth, increasingly popular among the younger generation. He highlighted the rapid development of this sector, supported by significant contributions to investment, exports, and job absorption. However, behind these great opportunities, the main challenge still lies in funding access for creators, who often face obstacles because their assets are intangible. Through the Intellectual Property-based People’s Business Credit (KUR) policy for the Creative Industry, the government is opening a new pathway so that creative works can be economically valued and used as loan collateral. With support from valuation institutions and an allocation of up to IDR 10 trillion, this policy is expected to provide a concrete solution to expand capital access, while strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesian creators in the global market.
