Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, stated that communities play a crucial role in assisting the development of intellectual property (IP) within the local culinary business sector. “Currently, what can truly help an IP grow is the community, because communities are more loyal, and their approach is more humanistic, friendly, and based on shared hobbies,” he said during the World Burger Festival held in Jakarta on Friday.

He remarked that communities possess the strength to serve as effective promotional engines for creative products, including culinary arts. Events that bring together local culinary entrepreneurs, such as the World Burger Festival, can serve as platforms for developing community-based creative businesses, according to him.

Although offering similar products, he continued, each local burger entrepreneur participating in the festival possesses a distinct brand identity, market segment, and narrative. “Each has its own character, its own segment, and its own storytelling,” he noted. This uniqueness, he added, can serve as a strength to attract consumer interest and expand market reach. He expressed hope that events like the World Burger Festival would be held more frequently, involving more local culinary entrepreneurs from various regions.
