Creative Economy Minister accelerates creative talent development with universities
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya is exploring opportunities for collaboration with Sahid University to accelerate the emergence of creative talent through start-up incubation and the strengthening of industry research, as part of the concrete implementation of the 2026-2045 Creative Economy Master Plan (Rindekraf) in building a national creative economy ecosystem.
“I see the competencies held by Sahid University as aligned with various creative economy subsectors. That alignment is good capital for developing collaboration in strengthening creative economy talent, research, and innovation,” said Riefky in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.
During the meeting, Sahid University presented six proposed strategic collaboration programmes: a Campus Creative Hub and Content Creator Scholarships, Creative Villages through research and community service, campus-level hexahelix collaboration, Creative Start-up Incubation and Acceleration, learning recognition for creative economy actors through credit conversion, and socialisation of the Business Identification Number (NIB) for content creators.
In addition, both parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation in organising training, seminars, workshops, competitions, MSME mentoring, and research development to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem.
In response to the proposals, the Minister of Creative Economy stated that a number of the programmes submitted were already in line with the policy direction of the Ministry of Creative Economy, particularly the development of Creative Villages, Creative Hubs, and creative economy talent.
Rector of Sahid University, Giyatmi, expressed the university’s readiness to support creative economy development through its academic capacity.
“We hope there will be many areas that can be collaborated on in line with Sahid University’s capacity. Whatever intersects with the creative economy, we are ready to contribute through education, research, and community service to support human resource development and the progress of the nation and state,” said Giyatmi.
Through this audience, the Ministry of Creative Economy and Sahid University committed to following up with technical discussions in order to strengthen the development of talent, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship as part of reinforcing the national creative economy ecosystem.
The Ministry of Creative Economy will also hold technical discussions as needed so that a number of priority programmes can be taken forward, including collaboration with content creator associations, the development of creative start-up incubation, and the socialisation of the NIB for content creators.
