Creating New Young Entrepreneurs in Indonesia, Ade Jona Prasetyo Reveals Hipmi's Strategy to Achieve It
Jakarta, VIVA – Ade Jona Prasetyo, the candidate for Chairman of the Central Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi), stated that for Indonesia to become an advanced nation, it must have 4% of its population as entrepreneurs.
Therefore, Jona emphasised that he is determined to dedicate himself as a bridge to realise that target.
According to Jona, the instant instrument to change one’s fate is to become an entrepreneur. Therefore, he said he wants to be a bridge and hope for all young Indonesians to become entrepreneurs.
“But I cannot move alone. I need support from BPD friends, BPC, Hipmi University, and all Hipmi cadres to jointly realise the dream of 70 million young Indonesians,” Jona said in his statement on Sunday, 10 May 2026.
The stages of the 18th National Deliberation (Munas) of Hipmi have entered the candidate debate phase, held at BW Luxury Hotel, Jambi, on Saturday, 9 May 2026. In that stage, Jona appeared confidently, mastering the issues and solutions for young entrepreneurs.
As someone born from limitations, Jona understands that there are around 70 million young Indonesians who want to change their fate.
“Their dream today is my dream 15 years ago,” he said.
President Prabowo Subianto has set an economic growth target of 8%. According to Jona, that target can be achieved if all young entrepreneurs collaborate.
Thus, he is promoting a vision: to make Hipmi the home of collaborative, inclusive, and globally competitive young entrepreneurs towards Golden Indonesia 2045. To achieve that goal, Jona has prepared several strategies.
First, food self-sufficiency. Jona will strengthen agricultural UMKM, modernise farming, and make food security the foundation of national security. Second, energy self-sufficiency. He wants to optimise renewable energy, reduce imports, promote B40 biosolar, and downstream coal into electricity.
Third, industrial downstreaming. The way is to elevate entrepreneurs, from traders to producers through value-added natural resources, foreign investment, technology transfer, and accelerating industrial transformation.
Fourth, increasing the People’s Business Credit (KUR) limit from Rp500 million to Rp2 billion. “It needs to be fought for so that UMKM have greater financing space to grow and level up,” Jona promised.
