Creating an Inclusive Environment for People with Vitiligo

Changes in skin colour due to vitiligo often pose challenges for those affected, relating to self-confidence, social acceptance, and mental health. Increasing public understanding of vitiligo is considered key to creating a more inclusive environment.

To commemorate World Vitiligo Day, Regenesis brought together a number of people with vitiligo and presented awards to ten inspirational individuals with the condition. The awards were given as a form of appreciation and to inspire the community through their life stories.

President Director of PT Regenesis Indonesia, Emmy Noviawati, said public awareness of vitiligo continues to increase. She noted this is reflected in the growing community of people with vitiligo in Indonesia.

“We believe beauty is not about perfection, but about the courage to accept oneself,” she said in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/7). She added that every individual has the same right to feel confident, valued, and accepted regardless of their skin condition.

Head of Skincare Marketing at PT Regenesis Indonesia, Dini Ika, said the company encourages the creation of a more inclusive society for people with vitiligo through education, public campaigns, collaboration with communities, and award programmes.
