Crane Breakdown on Ciputat Flyover Causes Traffic Congestion

The Ciputat Police Chief, Commissioner Bambang Askar Sodiq, stated that the station received reports from the public regarding traffic congestion on the flyover due to a crane breakdown at approximately 2:30 PM WIB. The Ciputat Police Duty Officer, Inspector Rahmat Gunawan, along with the Traffic Accident Unit, proceeded to the location.

“Officers arrived at the scene to secure the area and regulate traffic flow to prevent further congestion and ensure the safety of road users,” said Commissioner Bambang on Thursday (4/6/2026).

Bambang explained that the mobile crane experienced a failure in its joint coupling, rendering it unable to continue its journey. Upon the arrival of the authorities, vehicle technicians were already performing repairs to resolve the issue.

During the handling process, personnel from the East Ciputat Police Station provided public services by managing vehicle flow and ensuring the situation remained safe and conducive. The presence of officers at the scene was appreciated by residents and road users for their rapid response to public complaints.

Thanks to the coordination and security measures implemented, traffic conditions around the Cipulate flyover remained monitored, smooth, and controlled without causing significant disruption to other road users.

Commissioner Bambang emphasised that the East Ciputat Police Station will continue to provide rapid responses to all public reports as part of their commitment to excellent service, aiming to maintain security, safety, order, and smooth traffic within the East Ciputat Police jurisdiction.

“The handling has just been completed. Traffic has cleared,” said Bambang at 4:15 PM WIB.
