CPO Prices in North Aceh Remain High at Rp2,700 per Kilogram

Palm oil farmers in Aceh Province are currently experiencing a period of good fortune, driven by the price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (TBS) which has remained at a high level since June 2025 through to the middle of 2026.

The stable and favourable price conditions have motivated farmers in Indonesia’s westernmost province to tend to their plantations more diligently. Field observations show farmers are increasingly diligent in clearing their land to maintain the productivity of their palm oil crops.

Teungku Zakaria, one of the farmers, revealed that this positive trend has been felt over the past few months. According to him, prices have shown good stability for farmers’ welfare.

“At the beginning of May 2026, the palm oil price had already held in the range of Rp2,500 to Rp2,700 per kilogram. Now it has held at around Rp2,700 per kilogram for about one month,” Teungku Zakaria told Media Indonesia on Saturday (11/7).

The rise and stability of prices is evident in several areas of North Aceh Regency. In the districts of Matangkuli, Paya Bakong and Pirak Timu, the price of palm oil TBS has reportedly reached Rp2,700 per kilogram. This figure is considered very favourable and provides a reasonable profit margin for local farmers.

Abdullah, a palm oil farmer from Pirak Timu District, acknowledged that the current high TBS prices have had a significant impact on the financial condition of his family and the surrounding community. He said the palm oil sector has become the backbone of residents’ economy, which is now beginning to strengthen.

“Although there are ups and downs in this profession, the current price is really being felt in our economic welfare. Hopefully this price will continue to hold and we will always enjoy profitable returns,” said Abdullah.

The stability of TBS prices in Aceh is hoped to be maintained in order to support the recovery and strengthening of the people’s economy, particularly in the plantation sector, which is the main source of livelihood for many residents of North Aceh.
