CPO Export Corruption Case: Ariyanto Bakri Sentenced to 16 Years’ Imprisonment

Two defendants in a bribery case linked to a court ruling to drop charges in a corruption case involving the provision of facilities for exporting crude palm oil (CPO) appeared for the verdict-reading at Jakarta’s Corruption Court on Tuesday, 3 March 2026. The panel of judges found lawyer Ariyanto Bakri guilty, sentencing him to 16 years’ imprisonment and a Rp600 million fine, with a subsidiary sentence of 150 days’ imprisonment. Meanwhile lawyer Marcella Santoso was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment and a Rp600 million fine, with a subsidiary sentence of 150 days’ imprisonment.
