CPNS Motivation to Join Komcad: Aspiring to Be More Resilient in Living in Jakarta
JAKARTA - A civil service candidate (CPNS) from the Ministry of Creative Economy/Bekraf Agency, Maulidia (24 years old), admitted to being interested in joining the Komponen Cadangan (Komcad) programme because she sees it as a rare opportunity to experience basic military training held by the Ministry of Defence.
The woman from Indramayu hopes that through the Komcad basic education, she can become a tougher and more disciplined individual, while also being able to apply the skills acquired to her work environment, as she has only been working for one year.
“Honestly, I hope that by joining this Komcad basic training, I can become more resilient, especially for living in Jakarta. Also, I can become more disciplined, punctual, and apply the skills I will gain,” said Maulidia after the Komcad send-off at the National Monument, Jakarta, on Monday (13/4/2026).
“I heard that we will be taught how to use weapons and self-defence, so that’s also interesting,” she said.
Maulidia’s motivation to join Komcad was also driven by her desire to take advantage of an opportunity that she considers does not come every time.
“In my opinion, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. When else can we get basic military training and be mentored directly by experts in the field,” she said.
Previously, she admitted to having only participated in basic training related to outdoor activities for five days.
“I do like outdoor activities, often hiking mountains. Now as a civil servant, it’s a bit difficult to get permission, so when there’s Komcad, I’m really happy to join,” she said.
Regarding her work, Maulidia assured that all office tasks had been prepared before joining the Komcad programme.
“About one month beforehand, I already handed over my work, informing what I usually do, complete with templates and steps, so it can continue while I’m joining Komcad,” she explained.
She added that after this stage, participants still have to go through several further selection stages, including physical, ideological mental, and psychological selections.
Meanwhile, family support for her decision to join Komcad varies.
Previously reported, 2,019 ASN candidates for Komponen Cadangan passed the initial selection and proceeded to the training barracks process.
The distribution of the 2,019 participants who passed to the physical competency selection stage, psychology, and ideological mental is spread across six locations, namely Puskombelneg BPSDM Kemhan with 304 people, Rindam Jaya 302 people, Pusdikes Puskesat 505 people, Brigif 1 Pasmar 1 with 300 people, Pusbahasa Kodiklat AU 305 people, and Wingdik 500 Atang Sanjaya 303 people.
