Cows take over rally

PADANG, West Sumatra: A group of reporters who arrived at
Rimbo Data soccer field were greeted by a group of grazing cows
while supporters of People's Choice Party (Pilar) who had
scheduled to stage a campaign there Thursday were nowhere in
sight.

The journalists who came out to the field near the city were
unquestionably disappointed because the less popular party did
not issue any notice about the cancellation of the rally, Antara
reported.

The Padang newsmen did not vent their anger at the animals and
in fact some of them managed to laugh at the incident all the way
back to town. (pan)
