Courts Mammoth to open stores in RI
KUALA LUMPUR: Courts Mammoth Bhd., the Malaysian unit of
Courts Plc, plans to more than double its stores in Indonesia
within the next five years, the Star newspaper said.
Courts Mammoth will increase its stores to 60 from 24 by
opening at least one a month, the paper said, citing David Philip
Wood, its managing director. Johor Bahru-based Courts Mammoth
sells furniture and electrical goods on installment plans.
The retailer will focus on Java, which is the most densely
populated area in the Indonesian archipelago, because the island
will offer opportunities for expansion, the report said.
Courts Mammoth's three new stores in Indonesia will open
next month in Madiun, Pare and Mojokerto, all in East Java. The
outlets will have an average built-up area of between 4,000 and
6,000 square feet, the Star said.
