Court to set date for Mulyana's trial

JAKARTA: The Anticorruption Court received on Friday the case files on a bribery case involving General Elections Commission member Mulyana W. Kusumah, and will soon set the date for his trial.

A court clerk, Yanwitera, said the court chief is expected to name judges who would hear the case on Monday.

Mulyana is being charged with offering a bribe to a state official, a crime which carries a prison term of between one year and five years under Law No. 31/1999 on anticorruption.

Anticorruption commission investigators arrested Mulyana on April 9 at a Jakarta hotel after catching him red-handed offering a bribe to a state auditor who was auditing the poll body's election spending. -- Antara
