Court throws out Gus Dur's lawsuit
JAKARTA: The Central Jakarta District Court rejected on Tuesday former president Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid's complaint against the General Elections Commission (KPU) and ordered him to pay court fees totaling Rp 179,000 (US$19).
Gus Dur filed a lawsuit against KPU for disqualifying him from the presidential election due to health reasons in July.
The court based its verdict on the Constitutional Court's decision to reject Gus Dur's appeal for a judicial review on Law No. 23/2003 on general elections.
Gus Dur's camp decided to appeal the verdict. -- Antara
