Denpasar — The Denpasar District Court has sentenced two Australian foreign nationals, Mevlut Coskun (22) and Paea Imiddlemore Tupou (26), to 16 years imprisonment for committing murder against another Australian national.

The verdict against the two defendants was delivered by Presiding Judge Wayan Suarta at the Denpasar District Court, Bali, on Monday.

The judge found the defendants legally and convincingly guilty of premeditated murder as stipulated and penalised under Article 459 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP) in conjunction with Article 20 paragraph c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the KUHP.

Additionally, they were found in violation of Article 459 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the KUHP in conjunction with Article 17 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the KUHP and Article 20 paragraph c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the KUHP; and Article 306 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the KUHP in conjunction with Article 20 paragraph c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the KUHP as stated in the cumulative indictment filed by the State Prosecutor’s Office from the Badung District Attorney’s Office.

“The court hereby sentences defendants Mevlut Coskun and Paea Imiddlemore Tupou to 16 years imprisonment respectively,” the judge stated.

The sentence is two years lower than the prosecution’s recommendation from the Badung District Attorney’s Office, which had sought 18 years imprisonment for both defendants.

The judge determined that the defendants carried out a shooting that resulted in victim Zivan Radmanovic’s death and witness-victim Sanar Ghanim sustaining injuries.

The judge credited the defendants with the time already spent in detention and custody against their sentences.

During the proceedings attended by the victim’s relatives, the judge referenced an anonymous figure who financed the airline tickets, villa rental, weapons, and issued orders to shoot the victim. The identity of this anonymous person remains undisclosed to date.

Nevertheless, according to the judge, it can be established that this anonymous figure orchestrated the murder of victim Sanar Ghanim.

The defendants have been given seven days to file an appeal or accept the verdict.

The judge found that Darcy Francesco Jenson assisted the other two defendants in preparing accommodation, arranging transportation, and coordinating pickups.

The brutal shooting allegedly carried out by Australian gangsters shocked the public in the Banjar Sedahan area, Munggu Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, Bali, on Saturday (14 June 2025) in the early hours.

In the incident, one person died, identified as Zivan Radmanovic, and one person was injured — Sanar Ghanim.

The shooting was witnessed by GJ, the wife of victim ZR, and Daniela, the wife of Sanar.

ZR was shot inside the bathroom toilet, whilst Sanar was shot inside his bedroom.
