Court Sentences Nine Defendants in Major Pertamina Corruption Case, Including Son of Fugitive Riza Chalid
The Anti-Corruption Court at Jakarta Central District Court has delivered verdicts against nine defendants in a corruption case involving crude oil and refinery product management at PT Pertamina (Persero), its holding companies and contractors between 2018 and 2023.
The nine defendants received uniform sentencing ranging from nine to 15 years imprisonment, with Muhammad Kerry Adrianto Riza, son of fugitive Mohammad Riza Chalid, receiving the most severe sentence of 15 years imprisonment.
The sentencing hearing took place on Thursday 26 February 2026 from 16:00 Western Indonesia Time until early Friday morning 27 February 2026, organised into three clusters with three defendants each.
The first cluster comprised Pertamina Patra Niaga defendants: Riva Siahaan, former Chief Executive of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga; Maya Kusmaya, former Director of Marketing and Trade at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga; and Edward Corne, former VP of Trading Operations at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga.
The second cluster included PIS-KPI defendants: Sani Dinar Saifuddin, former Director of Feedstock and Product Optimisation at PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional; Yoki Firnandi, former Chief Executive of PT Pertamina International Shipping; and Agus Purwono, former VP of Feedstock Management at PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional.
The third cluster comprised private sector defendants: Muhammad Kerry Adrianto Riza, beneficial owner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa and son of Riza Chalid; Dimas Werhaspati, Commissioner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa and Commissioner of PT Jenggala Maritim; and Gading Ramadhan Joedo, Commissioner of PT Jenggala Maritim and Chief Executive of PT Orbit Terminal Merak.

Pertamina Patra Niaga Cluster:
Riva Siahaan received nine years imprisonment plus a 1 billion rupiah fine payable within one month of sentencing (extendable by maximum one month), with alternative imprisonment of 190 days if payment is not made.
Maya Kusmaya received nine years imprisonment plus a 1 billion rupiah fine under identical payment conditions.
Edward Corne received ten years imprisonment (one year more severe than Siahaan and Kusmaya) plus a 1 billion rupiah fine under identical payment conditions.
PIS/KPI Cluster:
Yoki Firnandi received nine years imprisonment with a 1 billion rupiah fine, convertible to 190 days additional imprisonment if unpaid.
Sani Dinar Saifuddin received nine years imprisonment with a 1 billion rupiah fine convertible to 190 days additional imprisonment.
Agus Purwono received ten years imprisonment with a 1 billion rupiah fine convertible to 190 days additional imprisonment.
Private Sector Cluster:
Muhammad Kerry Adrianto Riza received fifteen years imprisonment with a 1 billion rupiah fine convertible to 190 days additional imprisonment, plus an additional penalty of a 2.9 trillion rupiah restitution payment convertible to five years additional imprisonment.
Dimas Werhaspati received fourteen years imprisonment with a 1 billion rupiah fine convertible to 190 days additional imprisonment.
Gading Ramadhan Joedo received fourteen years imprisonment with a 1 billion rupiah fine convertible to 190 days additional imprisonment.
