Court says terror trials must continue
JAKARTA: The Central Jakarta District Court dismissed on Tuesday defense pleas by terror suspects Furqon Abdullah and Muhammad Syaifuddin, ruling that their separate trials must go ahead.
The judges said the trials were adjourned until July 21, 2004 to hear the testimonies of witnesses.
Furqon and Syaifuddin were arrested in September last year and charged with terrorism activities. It is not clear whether they were implicated in recent bombings in Bali or at the JW Marriott Hotel. -- JP
