Former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Lodewyk Pusung filed a pre-trial challenge against his suspect status in the alleged corruption case surrounding the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. The pre-trial motion lodged by Lodewyk was rejected by the judge.

This was stated by sole judge Abdul Affandi during the pre-trial hearing held at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (30/7/2026). The judge declared that the South Jakarta District Court was not authorised to hear the case filed by Lodewyk.

“Ruling, one: declaring that the South Jakarta District Court is not authorised to hear the pre-trial petition filed by the Petitioner,” judge Affandi read out.

The judge said Lodewyk’s pre-trial challenge against his suspect status could not be accepted.

“Declaring that the pre-trial petition filed by the Petitioner is inadmissible. Ordering the Petitioner to pay court costs amounting to nil,” he explained.

For context, Lodewyk Pusung was named a suspect in the alleged corruption case surrounding the governance of the MBG programme by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung). Lodewyk refused to accept this and filed a pre-trial challenge against the Kejagung.

Besides Lodewyk, the Attorney General’s Office has named six other suspects in the case. The following is the complete list of suspects in the MBG case so far:

  1. Former Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana

  2. Former Deputy Head of BGN Sony Sonjaya

  3. Former Deputy Head of BGN Lodewyk Pusung

  4. Asep Yusuf Somantri (AYS), a close associate of Sony

  5. Commissioner of PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal (PT YAT), the electric motorcycle supplier to BGN, Andri Mulyono (AM)

  6. Chairman of the Indonesia Food Security Review Foundation (IFSR), Glory Harimas Sihombing

  7. Secretary of the Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation at BGN, Lalu Muhammad Iwan (LMI).
