Court denies Anwar bail request

MALAYSIA: Malaysia's highest court rejected on Saturday a request
by jailed former deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim to be
released on bail pending the outcome of his final appeal of a
sodomy conviction.

Anwar lashed out at the judges, accusing of them of being
"quite prejudiced".

Anwar, 56, is serving prison terms totaling 15 years following
convictions on corruption and sodomy charges. He completed his
corruption sentence last year and applied for bail pending a
verdict in his appeal of the sodomy conviction.
